About The Workshop

DESCRIPTION

In this kid-friendly workshop, your child will be guided step-by-step through the ice cream making process and create their own ice cream flavor. First, they will challenge their taste buds in a taste test game as they learn about common ingredients found in their favorite ice cream flavors. Then, working in groups of 4, your child will put on their chef hat and create a vanilla-based ice cream from scratch with up to 2 unique add-ins. As their ice cream freezes, they will get creative and design their own ice cream labels. Afterwards, they will have the option to eat their sweet creation on-site or take it home to enjoy later.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

- Sweet Wynns Workshop Instructor who will guide your child through the ice cream making process

- Container of your child's signature ice cream flavor (8 ounces per person)

- All ice cream making equipment

AGE POLICY

This class is for children (ages 5 - 12) and their parent or guardian. Children must be accompanied by an adult (18 years of age and older) for the duration of the event.

FAQs

I want to take my child(ren) to a kids workshop, but I do not wish to participate. Do I still need to purchase an adult ticket?

While parents/guardians must accompany their child for the duration of the workshop, they are not required to purchase a ticket. Adults without a ticket may only participate to assist their child in the workshop. Non-ticket holders will not receive any ice cream or other perks included with the purchase of a workshop ticket.

My child is a preteen and this workshop is recommended for children as young as 5. Will my child have a good time?

Our kids workshops are simplified so children of various ages can participate with the help of their parent/guardian. If your child is more advanced (e.g., can measure multiple ingredients, can follow along with multistep recipes, can use the stove), you can absolutely attend our standard workshop. You can check out our upcoming workshops here.

My children are different ages - some can attend the standard workshop as they are 13 and older and the others are much younger. Which workshop should we attend?

Generally we recommend attending the workshop where the youngest ice cream maker would be most comfortable. Our standard workshops are not designed for our favorite little chefs and with shorter attention spans, it can make for a not-so-sweet experience. However, you know your children best, so we will always leave it up to you to make those decisions.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled workshop to check-in. All workshop attendees must wear closed-toed shoes and hair longer than shoulder-length must be pulled back or put up (e.g. in a ponytail or a bun). You will be standing and cooking for most of the class.

Attendees will work in groups of 4 to create the ice cream base before independently selecting their unique add-ins. Please note that parties less than 4 may share their workstation with another group.

We strictly adhere to Department of Health guidelines and any person with a fever or is experiencing persistent coughing, sneezing, or a runny nose that causes discharges from the eyes, nose, or mouth may not attend the workshop.
