Dear Team, We regret to inform you that there will be a delay in next week's payroll processing (Friday, June 21, 2024). Unfortunately, we did not receive all the necessary timesheets for Saturday, June 8, 2024. As a result, our accounting team is unable to process payroll on schedule for anyone whose shift started and/or ended after 5:02 PM on this date. Payment for hours worked after this time will be included in the following week's payroll period with an expected pay date of Friday, June 28, 2024. Typically, we can delay payroll processing to locate missing timesheets. However, Juneteenth, observed this year on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, is a federal banking holiday and we need to process payroll early to ensure everyone is paid on time. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at eat@sweetwynns.com. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Dear Team, I am writing to inform you about an incident that occurred in our shop on Sunday, May 26, 2024, which I believe all employees should be made aware of promptly. On Sunday at approximately 3:58 PM, an individual entered our shop displaying disruptive behavior. This person was not a registered guest of the workshop and began causing a disturbance by yelling erratically. He was escorted out of the building by our team members, but returned at 4:12 PM. Our team acted swiftly to lead him out of the building a second time without incident and contacted local law enforcement. No one was physically harmed. I would like to take this time to remind everyone of our policies around safety threats as outlined in the Employee Handbook. In the event of any perceived safety threat, your safety is the top priority. It is imperative that you remain calm and avoid any actions that may escalate the situation. Unless you are in imminent danger, do NOT touch anyone who is a perceived threat. This may escalate the situation and put your life and others’ lives at risk. Calmly ask the person to leave and allow them an opportunity to exit the building. NEVER prohibit someone from leaving - this may be considered false imprisonment and could lead to criminal charges brought against you. Once the person leaves, do NOT follow them outside of the shop - this is extremely dangerous and may result in serious harm. If the person does not leave and/or returns, contact local authorities immediately to report the incident and provide a detailed description of the suspect. If you have any questions or need to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. Your safety and security are of utmost importance, and I appreciate your dedication to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our guests and team members. Thank you for your attention and cooperation. -TW

Effective Friday, May 10, 2024, all ice cream makers must be at least 13 years old to participate in the Create Your Own Flavor Workshop. We have received numerous complaints about children ruining the workshop experience and to ensure all of our guests have an exceptional time at Sweet Wynns, we are enforcing this policy without exception. Please note, this policy is for public workshops only - guests may still bring their children to private adult workshops. Any ice cream maker who appears to be younger than 13 will be unable to participate in the workshop. We have updated our check out terms to ensure all guests verify they meet the new age requirement prior to reserving their tickets. All guests with young children should be referred to our Sweet Kids Workshops which are designed for children ages 5 - 12. These workshops are held on Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00 AM unless reserved for a private event. If you have any questions about this new policy, please email eat@sweetwynns.com or contact Taryn Wynn at 804-334-5515.

Starting on May 1, 2024, we will be implementing a new minimum hourly wage for Instructors of $16.00 per hour and a maximum wage of $18.00 per hour. This adjustment reflects our commitment to fairly compensating our instructional staff for their valuable contributions and additional responsibilities. Additionally, as part of this update, the minimum hourly wage for Assistants will remain at $12.00 per hour and the maximum wage has been reduced to $13.00 per hour. Employees whose current hourly wage exceeds the new maximum hourly wage for their respective position will remain at their current wage. We believe these adjustments will better align with industry standards and allow us to fairly compensate team members for their contributions to our success. We understand that these changes may raise questions and we are committed to ensuring complete transparency throughout this process. We encourage you to review the new wage structure details we have attached to this email and reach out directly with any questions or concerns you have.
